Flashback 1980's

Yesterday we had a visit from one of our new neighbours. She had come to see who had bought the block of land that apparently she knows very well and is very fond of. Whilst talking to her, I couldn't stop imagining brightly coloured knits and graphic designs of Australian images, basically it was straight back to the early 80's !!

Yes, Jenny Kee is one of our new neighbours. I knew she lived in the area, there is a large mural in Blackheath that she painted a long time ago, but she was the last person I expected to see when I looked up from painting doors in the garage yesterday!

(It was a good excuse for a break though!)

Famous!

I remember the Jenny Kee phenomenon well. In 1985 my then boyfriend (now husband) had a black and white Jenny Kee Doona cover in his college dorm room...

Wow! You have a national treasure as your neighbour. Her Princess Diana koala jumper was iconic. I always wanted one of those...wonder if it's old enough to be considered retro or vintage if I wore one nowadays?

Yeah, I thought it was quite funny - my English husband who has no idea who she is asked her to repeat her name twice because he didn't catch it - aargh! And she was wearing those trade mark glasses!
