Nine

Yesterday was Keira's 9th birthday. She had requested a strawberry cake which was very easy to put together. Two vanilla cakes with a layer of whipped cream and strawberries in between. Dotted on top are chocolate coated dried strawberries (thanks, Mary!) which I used in place of strawberries dipped in chocolate.

No party as such this year, there was a large Bowling party last year that my ears are still recovering from. But we seem to have done a lot of celebrating nonetheless, there's been lunch with our family earlier, yesterday was spent with some school friends and dinner was out with close friends whose children helped to sing Happy Birthday when Keira's dessert emerged from the kitchen alight with candles. I think we're all a little bit weary now!!

Oh, and these, are now permanently attached to
her feet . . . .
