Out and about in Kathmandu

This last photo was taken from the roof of the house where we stayed in Kathmandu. They have a one-day (Saturday) weekend in Nepal, so the women worked all day cutting the rice on their only day off from their regular jobs. I think all the neighbours came together to work in the fields surrounding their houses to prepare the rice they'll need over the upcoming winter.

I felt a bit lazy sitting around drinking tea while they did all the work! I also admired they way they managed to do such physically demanding work in their gorgeous saris!
